چکیده

Flower-visiting bees and wasps (Hymenoptera: Apoidea, Pompiloidea, Scolioidea, Tiphioidea, Vespoidea) provide essential services in agricultural urban systems, ecological functions natural ecosystems. Understanding the population trends, resource requirements preferences, challenges, how to manage these species better requires increased surveys standardized monitoring efforts for both groups. A program performed at various scales that provides data is a prerequisite managing either or conservation crop pollination purposes. Methods survey monitor can be accomplished by variety of means, depending on researchers’ aims goals. Herein, we discuss importance 1) evaluating populations threatened endangered bee wasp species, 2) detecting identifying pollinators crops, 3) use as biological control agents, 4) surveying ranges non-native wasps, 5) utilizing indicators. We also strategies selection tools methodologies best suited specific goals situations beneficial Hymenoptera research. Our hope this review will lead additional bee/wasp programs assist researchers with selecting purpose understanding insects.

Community Health Worker Programs to Improve Healthcare Access and Equity: Are They Only Relevant to Low- and Middle-Income Countries?

Background Community Health Workers (CHWs) are proven to be highly effective in low- and middle-income countries with many examples of successful large-scale programs. There is growing interest in deploying CHW programs in high-income countries to address inequity in healthcare access and outcomes amongst population groups facing disadvantage. This study is the first that examines the scope and...

Eccentric exercises; why do they work, what are the problems and how can we improve them?

Eccentric exercises (EE) have proved successful in the management of chronic tendinopathy, particularly of the Achilles and patellar tendons, where they have been shown to be effective in controlled trials. However, numerous questions regarding EE remain. The standard protocols are time-consuming and require very motivated patients. EE are effective in some tendinopathies but not others. Furthe...
